Description
Historical landscape with Marcus Curtius on horseback, in the act of leaping into a chasm, from which smoke and flame are issuing. On either side are citizens, whose attitudes express horror at the scene. Behind is a walled building, with towers and pillared portico. To the left are two tall pillars, rising from a pedestal, on which are several people. To the right can be seen open country, with town and hills in distance.
